The Center for Aquatic Sciences
The Center for Aquatic Sciences is a nonprofit organization dedicated to aquatic education, youth development, and the protection of aquatic life and habitats. Located inside Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ, the Center provides hands-on, science-based learning experiences that connect people of all ages to the natural world.
The Center offers a wide range of programs for schools, families, and community groups, including in-school and on-site programs, virtual lessons, summer camps, teen internships, educator workshops, and public programs. All experiences are interactive, standards-aligned, and designed to spark curiosity through live animals and real-world science applications.
Youth development is a core focus of the Center’s work. Through teen internships and career exploration programs, participants build confidence, leadership skills, and gain exposure to marine and environmental science careers, helping them see how science connects to real-world challenges.
The Center is committed to increasing access to high-quality science education by partnering with schools and community organizations, particularly in underserved communities. By reducing barriers to participation, the Center ensures students from all backgrounds can engage in meaningful STEM learning.
Through education, outreach, and community partnerships, the Center for Aquatic Sciences inspires lifelong learning, environmental stewardship, and informed decision-making that supports healthy aquatic ecosystems now and into the future.
